About the Design | ☽ The Wheel of the Year ☾ The illustrations are hand-drawn. They were first sketched on paper and then digitally refined. Analog materials and textures were used, such as paint textures and hand-made marbled paper. Each Sabbat is depicted with symbolism appropriate to that festival: a broom for Imbolc, representing ‘cleansing’, falling leaves for Mabon, symbolizing the release of the old. In this way, each illustration is tailored to the energy of that time of year.
